The General Labourer Shop Floor individual provides support for the shop floor. They assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the shop, emptying various bins, load/unload materials, material preparation, working with machine operators to maintain shop equipment and various other responsibilities. This is a hands-on position that requires mechanical ability, experience with a forklift and other machinery.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Load/unload CNC and CMM machines
  • Cut material using saws or other equipment
  • Preparation of material for production
  • Emptying of metal chip bins, recycling and other bins
  • Sweeping and shop floor clean-up
  • Operate basic hand tools, power tools and equipment
  • General maintenance of shop equipment and machines
  • Assist shipping/receiving with order preparation
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines
  • Occasionally make deliveries or pick-up items
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience: 1-3 years in a similar role

  • Knowledge of shop machines like saws, lathes, mills etc.
  • Ability to use forklifts and tow motors

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

MS Office: Beginner level

Valid Ontario Driver's Licence: licence must be in good standing

Working Conditions:
