About the Role

We're looking for a motivated and growth-oriented professional to join our team as a U.S. Senior Tax Analyst, Tax Compliance. In this role, you will be a key member of the U.S. tax compliance team working on federal, state, and franchise tax compliance. As a member of our tax department of over 40 people globally, you will work closely with our multinational team as well as senior executives. This role is primarily based out of either our downtown Toronto head office with potential for occasional travel to our international locations.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in the preparation of annual U.S. federal and state corporate and partnership income tax returns and provision.
  • Prepare responses to inquiries for federal and provincial or state income tax audits.
  • Provide tax technical support to properly calculate the impact of IRC 163(j) and BEAT.
  • Prepare U.S. international tax related forms such as 1042, 5471, 5472, 8858 and relevant statements and disclosures.
  • Communicate with external auditors on the consolidated year-end and quarterly tax provision calculation and related disclosures.
  • Assist in identifying areas for process improvements and collaborate on various automation of tax processes and ongoing efforts to streamline operations.
  • Perform research and analysis of tax issues and document treatment of significant tax accounting matters.
  • Involvement in various other ad hoc matters not limited to U.S. compliance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar field.
  • 2–3 years of U.S. tax related work experience in a public accounting firm and/or large multinational corporation.
  • Experience with U.S. income tax software such as OneSource.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong team player able to work collaboratively with other Tax and Finance teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Taxation.
  • CPA or actively pursuing designation.
  • Big Four public accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
  • Highly skilled in tax technology including automation of processes using tools such as Alteryx.

Location: Toronto

The hiring base salary range for this position is $76,300 to $104,900 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
