As our Manager, Business Intelligence, you'll lead the analytical, pricing, and reporting capabilities that power smart decision-making across Sandbox. Reporting to the Vice President, Technology & Intelligence, this leadership role blends strategy, innovation, and people development — all while transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive profitable growth.

You'll guide a talented team, influence corporate strategy, and help shape the future of Sandbox through business intelligence that truly matters.

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the business intelligence, analytics, pricing, and reporting team
• Leading Sandbox's pricing methodologies using analytics and modelling, ensuring accuracy and continuous improvement
• Turning raw data into valuable insights through data optimization, modelling, and customized reporting
• Supporting actuarial and analytical decision-making that drives product optimization and profitable growth
• Developing tools and models to help leadership understand financial performance and changing market conditions
• Collaborating with business stakeholders, IT, and data architecture teams to recommend and implement new technologies
• Managing approved business intelligence projects from concept through completion
• Overseeing data management, security, and classification standards
• Supporting recruitment, coaching, performance management, and professional development of your team
• Contributing to corporate strategy and future planning
• Acting as a role model who champions Sandbox's positive and inclusive culture

What You Bring To Sandbox

• Education Power: Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field; ACIA or FCIA designation is an asset
• Experience Counts: 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, pricing, or reporting, plus 3+ years of leadership experience
• Tech-Savvy: Strong working knowledge of SAS, R, Python, PSQL, Excel, and other analytical tools
• Insurance Insight: Solid understanding of insurance operations, underwriting profitability, and financial impacts
• Strategic Thinker: Ability to anticipate trends, solve complex problems, and make sound decisions under pressure
• People Leader: Proven ability to coach, develop, and empower high-performing teams
• Data Storyteller: Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, meaningful insights
• Innovator at Heart: Detail-oriented, curious, and committed to continuous improvement
