Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in PostgreSQL to support and manage enterprise-scale database environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern cloud-native technologies, including AWS, containerization, and Kubernetes, and will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security of database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in on-prem and cloud environments

Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries and configurations

Ensure database availability, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies

Manage database deployments in containerized environments (Docker)

Support and manage databases running on Kubernetes platforms

Work closely with application, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support CI/CD pipelines

Implement database security best practices, including access control and encryption

Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and proactive system monitoring

Document database architectures, procedures, and operational runbooks

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administration

Experience with containerization technologies (Docker)

Working knowledge of Kubernetes for deploying and managing database workloads

Experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, EKS, IAM, S3, CloudWatch)

Solid understanding of database backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions

Experience in performance tuning and query optimization

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
