EPC Canada is a dynamic, fast-growing company. It is 100% owned by the EPC Group, an international manufacturer of commercial explosives with extensive experience and expertise in storage and distribution in the mining, construction and quarrying industries.

EPC Canada is seeking a Plant Foreman/woman for its explosive distribution and blasting operations at its Côté Gold site in Ontario. The Plant Foreman/woman will be responsible for supporting emulsion manufacturing operations at the on-site plant, while also serving as the point of contact for managing raw material procurement and transportation logistics for on-site truck drivers. He/she will also be required to operate certain heavy machinery used within the department (wheel loader with fork/bucket, etc.).

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Operate the plant and fixed equipment for emulsion production and acid manufacturing;

  • Carry out the product production plan safely, efficiently, on time, and in accordance with standards so that the product can be delivered to the customer by tanker truck;

  • Ensure quality/compliance with established standards (e.g., product pH tests, etc.);

  • Receive and store goods in the designated areas;

  • Ensure that the water tank is filled;

  • Operate a telescopic forklift and/or pallet truck and/or press;

  • Move a pump truck or trailer truck on site as needed;

  • Manage and monitor inventory levels of raw materials, spare parts, and consumables;

  • Enter data (receipts);

  • Produce end-of-day reports;

  • Coordinate the logistics of long-haul truckers on site;

  • Perform general maintenance work on site;

  • Inspect the site, equipment, and machinery at the beginning and end of each shift;

  • Respond to emergencies to ensure smooth operations;

  • Maintain and ensure the cleanliness of workspaces;

  • Perform any other tasks related to the responsibilities of the position.

Qualifications required

  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent;

  • Have 1 to 3 years of significant experience in the manufacturing industry;

  • Knowledge of explosive products and legislation relating to the transportation of hazardous materials (an asset);

  • Hold a valid and recognized driver's license (automobile);

  • Hold recognized training to operate a wheel loader with fork/bucket;

  • Be comfortable using electronic driving software and working with computer data entry tools;

  • Have no legal impediments related to employment.

Conditions of work

  • Permanent, full-time position;

  • 12-hour shifts for 14 consecutive days followed by 14 days off (fly-in/fly-out);

  • Air transportation, accommodation, and meals paid for by the company during shifts;

  • Salary offered according to current pay scale;

  • Overtime paid after 44 hours;

  • Group insurance plan paid 90% by the employer;

  • Good physical condition and ability to handle loads ranging from 5 kg to 22.5 kg;
