Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, intentional, and mission-aligned Preschool Principal / Head of School to join our founding leadership team. This role is ideal for a leader who deeply understands early childhood education, values Waldorf and Montessori philosophies, and has experience supporting emergent curriculum practices in a refined, nurturing environment.

Our school is a luxury, values-based preschool with a uniform culture and thoughtfully prepared learning spaces. While Christian values and scriptures are reflected in the environment, religious instruction is not provided. The Principal will be responsible for upholding this balance while building a strong school culture, supporting teachers, and partnering closely with families.

Key Responsibilities

School Leadership & Culture

  • Establish and uphold a calm, respectful, and professional school culture aligned with the Infusion Curriculum
  • Model leadership rooted in integrity, warmth, and clear expectations
  • Ensure the school environment reflects intentional design, consistency, and high standards

Curriculum & Instruction

  • Oversee implementation of the Infusion Curriculum (Waldorf + Montessori + emergent learning)
  • Support teachers in lesson planning, observation, documentation, and classroom practices
  • Ensure developmentally appropriate instruction across all classrooms
  • Guide instructional consistency while honoring emergent, child-led learning

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Lead teacher onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback
  • Mentor teaching staff and support professional growth
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and alignment among team members

Family & Community Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for families
  • Communicate school philosophy, policies, and expectations clearly and professionally
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and guardians

Operations & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain school policies, procedures, and handbooks
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing and early childhood regulations
  • Collaborate with ownership on enrollment, staffing, and operational planning

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience in early childhood education
  • Strong working knowledge of Waldorf and/or Montessori philosophy
  • Experience supporting emergent or Reggio-inspired curriculum
  • Background in teacher training, coaching, and instructional leadership
  • Comfortable working in a values-based environment that reflects Christian principles without religious instruction
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Professional presence aligned with a luxury, uniform-based school culture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field
  • Montessori and/or Waldorf certification
  • Experience opening a new school or serving on a founding leadership team
  • Familiarity with early childhood licensing and regulatory compliance

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Seasonal

Contract length: 10 months

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
