Your Role at KIK
Reporting to the Finance Vice President, the Chief Accountant will be responsible for general accounting, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting. He will prepare financial reports, accounting analyses, and will liaise with internal/external auditors

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the Accounts Payable team (3 members)
  • Act as a leader responsible for achieving departmental objectives
  • Develop and motivate the team through coaching, mentoring, and feedback
  • Review and approve the GL coding of the accounts payable team in JD-Edward
  • Execute the accounting entries required for the month-end process (JD-Edwards)
  • Responsible for managing the general ledger and financial accounts
  • Prepare periodic disbursements via bank transfers and checks
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statements performance
  • Lead the review of monthly financial statements with Lavo's three divisions (Retail, Bulk, and Qualipak)
  • Provide the necessary information for preparing tax returns
  • Responsible for reviewing and presenting balance sheets performance during the Q2 (6-month) and Q4 (12-month) closing periods
  • Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Cash management
  • Cooperate with auditors to conduct annual internal audit
  • Proactively resolve potential compliance issues
  • Advise on improving the financial management system, internal control system, and the use of financial management software
  • Work collaboratively with other teams (sales, marketing, HR, etc.) to achieve common goals
  • Other financial management tasks assigned by the VP of Finance

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • CPA certificate
  • Minimum 15+ years of management experience
  • Experience in the manufacturing and retail industries
  • Able to thrive in a multi-project, deadline-driven environment
  • Superior computer skills, with advanced proficiency in the full range of MS Office software (Excel, Macros, Data Management).
  • Knowledge of Oracle's JD Edwards Enterprise Resource Planning software or other ERPs
  • Consistent, accurate, and meticulous, with attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to motivate the team and lead by example
