Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as a baker. This role involves creating beautiful and delicious baked goods, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly in baking, cake decorating, and food preparation. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills while contributing to a small welcoming bakery and cafe environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and bread
  • Decorate cakes and desserts with artistic flair to meet customer specifications
  • Assist in food preparation and cooking for daily operations
  • Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety and sanitation standards
  • Package baked goods for retail sale or catering orders
  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product selections and inquiries
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment and work surfaces
  • Follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in product quality
  • Support inventory management by monitoring supplies and notifying management of shortages

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or food preparation within a restaurant or bakery setting
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
  • Kitchen experience including food industry best practices is preferred
  • Familiarity with packaging baked goods for retail or catering purposes is a plus
  • Basic cooking skills with an understanding of food industry standards are desirable
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as needed

Pay: $20.00 per hour
