Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Civil Technician to join our team in Moncton, NB. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of civil engineering projects, providing technical support and collaborating with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure the successful delivery of transportation infrastructure and development projects. You will work on tasks such as site evaluations, preparation of design documents, and providing project support during construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of design plans, reports, and technical specifications.
  • Use relevant software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) to draft designs and generate reports.
  • Perform technical calculations and analyses to support civil engineering designs.
  • Review project plans and design documentation for accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to engineers and project teams.
  • Participate in site assessments and inspections.
  • Monitors and documents conformance with quality, performance, safety, and/or code requirements. 
  • Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation. 
  • General understanding of procedures, company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. 
  • Prepare and maintain project records, drawings, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and contractors during project execution.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field 
  • 2 + years of experience
  • Proficiency in civil engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office).
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, design, and construction practices.
  • Ability to perform technical calculations and work with engineering drawings.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as an Engineering Technologist (CET) or equivalent is an asset.
  • Previous experience as a Civil Technician, ideally in a consulting or infrastructure development setting.
  • Experience with site design, grading, and drainage.
  • Knowledge of relevant local and national codes and standards.
  • Familiarity with project management and construction procedures.
  • Experience with GIS and other design tools is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English & French) is an asset
