Overview
The Outreach Worker plays a vital role in working with families in our communities with essential resources and services provided by Susan Ulmer Addiction Services. This position involves engaging with clients to promote awareness, educate individuals on our provided programs , and facilitate access to necessary support. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills with a strong and compassionate understanding of addictions and the role they play in our community service, demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with our clients. The candidate must be able to display compassion and empathy toward our clients in a non judgmental environment. Lived experience is an asset in this position but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide transportation for clients to and from activities, appointments, and programming.
- Educate clients about available resources and services, ensuring they understand how to access them and assisting them where needed.
- Educate clients about Household Management, Child Management, and Discipline Management using the resources provided by Susan Ulmer Addiction Services.
- Supervise outreach activities and coordinate with team members to ensure successful implementation of projects.
- Manage outreach projects from inception to completion, ensuring goals are met within established timelines.
- Perform house inspections and report findings to management.
- Provide childcare when the parents are in programming or at appointments.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and report findings to management on a weekly basis.
- Provide on call services to the clients as needed.
Requirements
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate our clients.
- Experience in data collection methods and analysis techniques.
- Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in documentation and reporting.
- Valid Drivers license with clean abstract
- Reliable vehicle (mileage will be paid)
- Demonstrated project management experience, capable of overseeing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to work both alone and in a team setting
- A passion for community engagement and a commitment to making a positive impact.
- Clear understanding of addictions and the role it plays in family dynamics.
- Must be able to create and maintain an environment free of judgment with empathy and compassion toward their clients.
- Lived experience is an asset but not a requirement for this position.
- Must be available Monday - Saturday and some evenings if needed.
- Must have an understanding of the inner workings of Household management including Budgeting, Scheduling, Time management, Child management.
