About the Role

If so, consider joining Armor Wood's Production department as a General Labourer - this is an entry-level position with room for advancement The role is responsible for transforming raw lumber into treated wood materials commonly used for outdoor projects such as decks, fencing, gardens, and edging. Responsibilities include:

  • Operating a forklift and assisting with loading, unloading, and lifting lumber products and timbers
  • Working within the production line team to process and complete customer orders by the deadline
  • Assist with the lumber chemical treating process
  • Complete daily task assignments on time with a safety-first attitude

Work Schedule

40 hours per week. This role operates Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with a half-hour unpaid for lunch. Extra hours are available at a shift premium rate.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older at time of application.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Previous forklift training and/or certification is an asset, but not required.
  • Must have your own vehicle to get to and from work. Our building is not located on public transit routes.
  • Ability to successfully pass a fit test including lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
  • All job-related training is provided and paid for The successful candidate must have a strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Must wear a pair of CSA Approved Safety (steel toed) boots, work gloves, and hearing protection.
