Your Opportunity:

The Lab Assistant role in Transfusion Medicine primarily involves receiving high volumes of various blood products in large shipping boxes, frequently lifting these boxes from floor to table height, entering blood product information into the LIS system, and re-packing and distributing the products to hospital sites across the Edmonton Zone and Northern Alberta. Lab assistants also play an important role in the maintenance of the laboratory equipment throughout the Transfusion Medicine lab.

Description:

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
