The RoleThe Indigenous Relations Coordinator is a rewarding position where excellence is shown by supporting and managing administrative work flows, that allows the team to focus on fostering meaningful relationships with Frist Nations communities in order to advance shared objectives. This role involves coordinating consultation processes and meetings, researching, preparing vital documents and supporting the development of agreements. The ideal candidate is culturally sensitive, knowledgeable about First Nations' history and rights in Canada, and supportive in communication and negotiation in advancing BCTS's commitment to reconciliation and sustainable forest management. Qualifications:Education and Experience RequirementsDiploma related to Indigenous consultation, public administration or a related field and 1 year related experience; ORCertificate or coursework in Indigenous consultation, public administration or a related field and 2 years related experience; ORSecondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) and 3 years related experience; ORAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Related experience includes the following:Experience working with Indigenous peoples and communities.Experience in consultation and negotiation processes.Preference StatementsPreference may be given to candidates who have experience working in the forestry industry.For a complete list of qualifications and requirements please look at the job profile attached to this posting.
