ROLE SUMMARY:

St John's International School, located in Waterloo, Belgium, is a proud member of the Inspired Education Group and offers a world-class education. Established in 1964, St John's is an IB World School, delivering the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme and a Middle School curriculum that combines academic excellence with personal development.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Mathematics Teacher to join our Middle School and High School faculty in August 2026. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach Mathematics to Middle and High School students, following IB standards and curriculum requirements.Design and deliver engaging lessons that develop problem-solving, logical reasoning, and analytical skills.Foster a growth mindset and encourage students to explore mathematical concepts through inquiry-based learning.Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners and challenge students at all levels.Assess and track student progress regularly, providing feedback and adapting teaching methods as needed.Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance learning experiences, including graphing software and interactive platforms.Actively contribute to the school's extra-curricular programs, such as math clubs, competitions, and STEM initiatives.Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities aligned with the IB philosophy.Mentor students, guiding their personal, academic, and social development.Communicate effectively with parents and guardians on student progress and development.Ensure teaching aligns with IB inquiry-based learning and school values, promoting curiosity and a love for mathematics. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: A university degree in Mathematics or a related field, with a recognised teaching qualification.Experience teaching mathematics to Middle and High School students, preferably in an international or IB school.Familiarity with IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB Diploma Programme (DP), and inquiry-based mathematics education.Proven ability to create a dynamic, engaging classroom environment that fosters problem-solving and critical thinking.Proficiency in technology integration to enhance mathematics instruction through digital tools and interactive platforms.Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (basic French is an advantage).A collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with colleagues across multiple disciplines.Flexibility and adaptability in a multicultural environment.A commitment to professional development and keeping up with educational best practices.A solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for inspiring students to explore and love mathematics.Willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities, including math clubs, competitions, or STEM projects.
