We're looking for a Retail Marketing Summer Student who's ready to dive into the exciting world of retail marketing and event planning. If you're a creative thinker with a knack for social media and a passion for community events, this is your chance to shine

What You'll Bring:

  • ability to craft compelling stories, particularly for social media, and confidently engage with various audiences.
  • enjoy coordinating events and fostering community engagement through well-executed programming.
  • comfortable presenting, interacting with stakeholders, and representing the brand in a professional manner.
  • currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • experience using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and are adaptable to new platforms.

What You'll Do:

This role reports to the Directory of Brand and Experience, working closely with the Retail Marketing Coordinator. You'll work closely with Harvard's Marketing team and Currents of Windermere property team to supercharge our social media strategy and event calendar. Here's a taste of what you'll be up to:

Events & Programming:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of our Summer Event Series at Currents of Windermere, including everything from magic shows and live music to fitness classes and beyond.
  • Manage event set-up, take-down, and all the little details in between to ensure each event runs smoothly.
  • Coordinate with retailers, vendors, and performers to create unforgettable experiences for our community.
  • Be the go-to person for anyone booking venues at the shopping centre, ensuring their experience is smooth and professional.
  • Create post-event recaps that wow our ownership team.
  • Follow booking procedures and manage resources to keep everything running like clockwork.

Social Media:

  • Chat with retail merchants, the shopping public, and community groups to keep everyone connected.
  • Help create awesome content for our social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook).
  • Collaborate with local influencers to boost our brand presence.

Safety & Teamwork:

  • Stick to our health, safety, and environment guidelines to keep everyone safe.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience every time.
  • Be a key player in our client, customer, and public relations programs.

Work Hours:

You'll mainly work during regular business hours, but flexibility is key. We'll need you to jump in during evenings and weekends for special events, especially around the holidays.
