Associate Software Engineer

We have an opportunity for an Associate Software Engineer to join our NIOS Platform team in Burnaby reporting to the Director of Software Engineering.  In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting core platform features that power our industry-leading NIOS platform. Collaborating closely with Distinguished Engineers, Architects, QA, Product Security, and Customer Escalation teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.  As a critical contributor to the evolution of Infoblox's next-generation DDI services, you will help shape software architecture, enhance product security, and drive platform scalability and performance. 

Be a Contributor — What You'll Do 

  • Design, develop, and debug software modules for the NIOS DDI platform
  • Write high-quality code using Linux, C/C++, Python, and XML
  • Apply your knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Linux internals, and networking stacks
  • Create detailed design documents and comprehensive test plans
  • Collaborate with product architects, senior engineers, QA, and support teams to resolve complex technical challenges  

Be Prepared — What You Bring 

  • Strong foundational background in professional software development, including co-op work terms or other industry experience
  • Strong programming skills in at least one of the following: C, C++, Python, or Java
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and interpersonal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or related technical field 

Be Successful — Your Path 

First 90 Days: Immerse yourself in our culture, connect with mentors (Blox Buddies), and map the systems and meet with key stakeholders that rely on your work. Discuss and create short/long term goals. 

Six Months: Understand key functionalities of the core NIOS/vNIOS platforms. Contribute and participate in analyzing, providing root cause analysis, and solutions for NIOS issues.  

One Year: Play a major role in analyzing, designing, delivering, and maintaining core platform features and NIOS issues.
