Job Description:

About the role:

Sun Life's Corporate Expense Management team works to oversee the management of more than $14B of annual expenditures.  The team works closely with key Digital, Business and Technology Solutions (DBTS) and corporate finance areas and each of Sun Life's Business Groups to support the completion of critical financial deliverables and activities.  These include reporting and analysis of quarterly and annual expense numbers; planning, budgeting and forecasting of expense values; and the creation and execution of expense control and governance frameworks. 

This role will report to the Manager, Expense Management.

What will you do?

  • Collaborate with Business Group partners to develop and communicate consolidated expense reporting and insights to senior leaders
  • Coordinate key expense components of the annual Strategic Plan and Business Plan deliverables
  • Execute on our digitization and automation expense priorities, leveraging technical capabilities and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Lead or otherwise support in the resolution of ad hoc requests for information from senior leadership, responding in a complete and effective manner with a high sense of urgency
  • Build strong relationships with Corporate and Business Group partners

What do you need to succeed?

  • 2+ years working in a global organization
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Progressive experience within the financial management functions and proven track record of partnering with and influencing stakeholder across various business areas
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate internal and external reporting
  • Communication skills to share relevant information at the executive level in a compelling, succinct and diplomatic manner
  • Ability to manage through complexity and ambiguity with a 'can-do' attitude and ownership mindset
  • Excellent multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in the insurance industry or a large financial institution is an asset
  • Working knowledge of relevant applications is an asset (Hyperion, SAP, Longview, Workiva, Tableau)

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
