McMan South is a non-profit organization that provides social services to the communities of Brooks, Crowsnest Pass, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Pincher Creek, and the surrounding area of southern Alberta. Our dedicated team cultivates professional relationships with participants to ensure they have access to the opportunities they deserve, through 30-plus programs and over 200 staff in the region.

McMan has an immediate requirement for a Roommate Companion for a youth in Lethbridge.

Details of the position:

· Be a Roommate Companion in your home for a youth aged 16-22.

· Use strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches to welcome this youth into your home in a shared accommodation setting.

· Assist youth with occasional support, monitoring, and life-skills training when required to aid them in their transition to adulthood.

· Communicate with the McMan Youth Transition to Independence Program Mentor to work collaboratively towards helping the youth achieve their goals.

· Act as a positive role model and provide informal support and guidance while maintaining your regular lifestyle.

This exciting position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found

Here is what we have to offer:

· Ongoing consultation and support.

· Rent and stipend totaling $1600 per month with a youth in the home, $500 per month without a youth in the home. The youth has separate funds for groceries.

Here is what you need to get an interview:

· Your own place of residence, with an available bedroom.

· Clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector and clear Child Intervention Record Check dated within the past six (6) months.

· Current Standard First Aid CPR Level C Certificate.

· Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License.

· Daily use of a reliable vehicle with minimum $2M Third Party Liability Insurance.

· Experience working with youth is an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $500.00-$1,600.00 per month
