Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Yard Worker to join our team. This role involves supporting warehouse operations, including loading and unloading materials, operating heavy equipment, and assisting with construction-related tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse distribution, heavy equipment operation, and a strong work ethic to ensure efficient yard management and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload materials using heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and cranes
  • Operate order pickers and other warehouse management systems to fulfill shipping and receiving tasks
  • Assist with order picking, packing, and inventory management in the yard
  • Support construction activities as needed, including moving materials and setting up work areas
  • Conduct heavy lifting to move supplies or equipment safely around the yard
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard area to promote safety and efficiency
  • Ensure proper use of safety protocols when operating heavy machinery and handling materials
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate shipping, receiving, and storage activities

Skills

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related construction environments
  • Mechanical knowledge for operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and other machinery
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
  • Experience with order picking, load & unload procedures, and warehouse organization
  • Knowledge of construction site safety practices and heavy equipment operation standards
  • Strong physical stamina with the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
