About Us

The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of seven Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders. and Food and Nutritional Sciences), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centers. The Faculty has more than 4,000 undergraduate students and more than 900 graduate students (200 PhD students).

The School of Health Studies is a diverse community of students and professors committed to improving human health around the globe. The mission of the School is to nurture the creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking of tomorrow's global leaders, through transformative interdisciplinary research, education, and knowledge mobilization. Delivering a primarily undergraduate program, the School of Health Studies focuses on streams of studies including Health Sciences, Health and Aging, Health Promotion, Biology, and Rehabilitation Sciences.

Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator/Manager will be responsible for supporting and overseeing all aspects of one or more projects within a research group, department, or Faculty. The incumbent will coordinate and provide ongoing leadership of the project, and manage all project phases by setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress and results. The incumbent will engage various stakeholders, ensure project support and sponsorship, and provide leadership and direction to the project team.

Position Summary

The role requires an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, Global Health, Social Sciences, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred. Candidates must have strong project coordination and organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities across diverse and cross-cultural contexts, and experience supporting research or multi-country projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual collaboration tools, close attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential. A commitment to ethical research practices, equity, and cultural sensitivity is also required.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Undergraduate Degree; Project Management Professional certification preferred

Experience:

  • 2 years' work experience in a related field

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

  • Familiarity with best practices in building a strong collaborative team and leading people
  • Familiarity with project life cycles
  • Familiarity with techniques for planning, managing and coordinating multiple projects, with competing priorities that involve a variety of stakeholders
  • Project management skills to ensure team roles are clear, milestones are communicated and deadlines are met
  • Familiarity with best practices for change management
  • Communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Results-oriented with the ability to motivate and coach employees to meet high performance standards
  • Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community
  • Strong client focus with a desire to achieve results
