About The Role
A leading player in the
insurance industry
is seeking an experienced
Data Architect
to design and evolve its data ecosystem. The role involves defining the overall data strategy, optimizing architectures (Data Lake, Data Warehouse), and ensuring governance, scalability, and security across all data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the organization's data strategy, aligning it with business objectives.
  • Design and optimize modern data architectures to support analytics, AI, and operational needs.
  • Establish data governance standards including data quality, lineage, and modeling principles.
  • Provide technical leadership to Data Engineering and Data Science teams.
  • Promote best practices in data design, performance, and compliance.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer with strong architectural responsibilities (5–8 years).
  • Advanced expertise in data architecture (Data Warehouse, Data Lake) and dimensional data modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms (GCP, Azure – Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks).
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL optimization, GDPR compliance, and DataOps/DevOps principles.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset, analytical, pragmatic, and fluent in French, Dutch, and English.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or related field.
  • Location: Brussels (center) – hybrid collaboration possible.
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: 24 months (extension possible)
