Senior Move Specialist
— a hands-on supervisor who leads by example.

Position Summary
The Senior Move Specialist is a working Team Leader responsible for coordinating every aspect of a client move. This is a part-time, on-site position to start, located in Vaughan/ Richmond Hill Ontario (with permanent potential for the right candidate).

You'll oversee on-site crews, communicate directly with clients and retirement-community partners, ensure timelines and standards are met, and perform all moving and packing tasks alongside your team. Day-to-day tasks include conducting initial consultations, personalized packing, unpacking, assisting with downsizing, moves and home clear-outs.

Efficiency and attention to detail are crucial as you will also be responsible for coordinating elevator reservations and setting up the new home for a seamless moving day experience.

This role bridges operations and customer care — ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, problem-solving, and leadership within a purpose-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Mover / Packer teams during client moves.
• Coordinate job details (inventory, timelines, staff assignments, vehicle logistics).
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients, families, and retirement community staff.
• Ensure safe packing, handling, and transport of furnishings and belongings.
• Pack, load, transport, and unload furniture and boxes with attention to safety and care.
• Operate Genie pickup trucks and trailers safely in accordance with Ontario traffic laws.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles and equipment.
• Follow Genie's professional moving, packing, and safety procedures.
• Treat clients with empathy and patience, providing reassurance during moves.
• Train, mentor, and motivate new crew members.
• Track and report project completion details to management.
• Maintain positive relationships with partner communities to support ongoing referrals.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario G-class driver's licence with clean record (required).
• 2 + years of experience in moving, logistics, or supervisory customer-service roles.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move furniture (up to 75 lbs) and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Experience setting up home electronics, hanging pictures and personal items, etc.
• Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple jobs and staff schedules.
• Experience using CRMs and mobile APPS for managing jobs and teams
• Empathy and patience when working with seniors and families.
• Experience coordinating with retirement communities or service partners (an asset).
• Trailer-towing experience or willingness to learn (training provided).
