The Senior Account Director is a senior leader within the client services team, responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, growth, and overall health of high-value client relationships. This role goes beyond account management, acting as a trusted advisor to clients, a driver of agency revenue, and a mentor to internal team members. Senior Account Directors operate at both strategic and operational levels, bringing deep marketing expertise, business acumen, and leadership presence to every engagement.
They are strategic thinkers who can translate insight into action, guide clients through complexity, and inspire teams to deliver sharp, impactful work that drives measurable outcomes for both clients and the agency.
Accountabilities
- Leads strategic vision across complex client accounts, ensuring alignment with client business objectives and guiding brand evolution through integrated marketing programs.
- Serves as executive-level counsel, anticipating client needs, identifying opportunities, and delivering high-impact strategies backed by data and insight.
- Establishes and models standards of excellence for client service (responsiveness, clarity, and influence) while mentoring and supporting other team members.
- Designs and drives innovation in client service delivery, ensuring adaptive strategies and scalable processes for long-term account success.
- Elevates client relationships through strategic education, helping clients engage deeply with agency processes, creative work, and performance metrics.
- Leads agency-wide problem-solving for client challenges, fostering cross-functional collaboration and clear communication across departments.
- Partners with leadership to enhance agency processes, ensuring all client work meets high standards of quality, profitability, and efficiency.
- Owns senior accountability for client satisfaction, retention, and account growth, contributing directly to agency revenue and performance goals.
- Builds and leads high-performing account teams, providing ongoing feedback, development pathways, and opportunities for growth.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and professionalism in handling conflict or high-pressure situations with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (MBA considered an asset).
- 8+ years in agency environment (marketing, advertising, digital ) with 2+ years as an Account Director
- Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing mid- to large-scale integrated campaigns across digital, traditional, and experiential channels.
- Strong operational understanding of scoping, budgeting, timelines, and resource management.
- Demonstrated ability to grow accounts, contribute to new business development, and influence agency profitability.
