Director of Procurement

Salary Range: $160,000 — $185,000

Based in the Vancouver area, the Director of Procurement is responsible for developing and executing the company's procurement strategy to ensure reliable supply, competitive cost, and high-quality products across all categories for our busy client.

This role leads supplier sourcing and negotiations, contract management, inventory alignment, and procurement team performance within a fast-paced retail and distribution environment. The Director partners closely with sales, logistics, finance, and merchandising to support profitability, service levels, and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company growth, margin, and service-level objectives
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and competitive pricing
  • Collaborate with demand planning, sales, and warehouse teams to align purchasing with forecasts
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance product availability, cash flow, and carrying costs
  • Support new product introductions, SKU rationalization
  • Drive continuous improvement in cost of goods sold (COGS) and gross margin
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement and buying team
  • Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and accountability
  • Other as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • 8-12+ years of progressive procurement or sourcing experience, preferably in wholesale distribution
  • 3-5+ years in a leadership or management role
  • Strong negotiation skills with proven cost savings and supplier optimization results
  • Experience working with ERP systems and procurement analytics

Salary in the mid to high 100,000 range depending on experience.
