Job Summary

We are seeking candidates for our Equipment Operator vacancy. The ideal candidates will have some experience in operating equipment of various sizes, including backhoes, loaders, plow trucks to assist in a variety of activities including water and wastewater repairs and maintenance. The Town is willing to train on equipment for the right candidate. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical operations, safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. If you have a valid Class 3 license with a clean drivers abstract and are willing to learn equipment operation, please submit your resume.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, and loaders to perform tasks including digging, grading, and moving materials.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute project tasks efficiently.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols while operating machinery on-site.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and project progress.

Skills

  • Proficiency in equipment operation, including backhoe, loader, sanders, plows, tandem trucks.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Experience with commercial driving is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and collaboration.
  • A strong commitment to safety practices in all aspects of work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.43-$40.38 per hour
