You as a Manager, Accounting will:
- Assist with day-to-day accounting and month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, analysis, and financial reporting
- Assist with financial system implementations and updates
- Perform research and provide input on finance requirements for new transactions and areas of business
- Assist with the year-end external audit
- Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting, and participate in internal control process implementations and reviews
- Provide ongoing accounting and finance support to EllisDon divisions
- Participate in control processes such as review and approval of payments, invoices, and purchase orders
- Perform research on technical accounting matters, and prepare accounting standards analysis for new transactions and changes in accounting standards
- Identify risk areas, research and evaluate best practices, and design, recommend, implement and monitor controls and other processes
- Participate in special projects as needed, including acquisition due-diligence
Is this the right role for you?
- You have a strong accounting background, with in-depth experience in ASPE and/or IFRS
- You hold a CPA designation
- You have a minimum of 5 years of progressive and relevant experience, including leading and developing a team
- You are a well-organized, proactive and detail oriented individual able to self-manage and work as part of a team in a dynamic fast paced environment
- You are a highly technical accountant that has strong attention to detail and can offer process improvements and innovative solutions
- You possess strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
