3 caregivers for three 8-hour shifts or 2 caregivers for two 12-hour shifts

24 hours Monday to Sunday

DUTIES

Assist with showers and dressing, monitor independent toileting, perform light housekeeping and laundry, maintain organized neat and tidy living space, monitor and manage supplies, prepare tasty healthy presentable meals, implement safety and sanitation precautions, dispense and give daily medications and vitamins, initiate an exercise program (if possible), manage activities (newspapers, card games and TV), offer daily companionship and conversation, provide dementia assistance as needed, handle occasional visitors and home maintenance service calls, coordinate with family visitors, assist with medical appointments (outings and in-home), maintain notes and records.

CLIENT HEALTH

· Has dementia

· Develops pneumonia easily so precautions to prevent infections necessary.

· Atrial Fibrillation requires stroke prevention plan of medications, mediterranean diet and exercise

· Uses a walker (lift in garage; walker with wheels for outings).

REQUIREMENTS

· Medical background an asset

· CCA or equivalent

· Experience in private home care preferred

· Dementia knowledge & experience essential

· Clear English (conversation essential)

· Flexibility to cover co-worker shifts if needed

· 100% reliability needed in all areas

· Ability to initiate duties and problem solve independently

· Ability to inspire and motivate (gentle persuasion techniques)

· References with trach record of success

· Closed to residents of Saskatchewan

· Driver's license and reliable vehicle

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 48 per week

Work Location: In person
