Eden Valley Poultry Incorporated is seeking a Temporary Building Maintenance Worker (Mon to Fri – 3pm to 11pm; occasionally other shifts to assist with coverage) to join their team of dedicated professionals. As the Building Maintenance Worker, you will perform regular inspections and building maintenance.

Responsibilities Include:

  • General building repairs and maintenance.
  • Building construction
    • Doors
    • Windows
    • Roof leaks
    • Calking walls and ceilings
    • Building inspections
    • Floor repairs
    • Locks
  • HVAC
    • Filter changes on ventilation
    • Heat pumps
    • Exhaust fans roof and acclimatizing

  • Minor plumbing

    • Pipe leaks
    • Plunging toilets and sinks
    • Chemical leaks
    • Wells
    • Drains
    • Wash station

  • Assist and take daily direction from the Chief Power Engineer/Building Maintenance Manager on jobs and tasks to maintain a clean and orderly site.

  • Maintain a record of current inventory (work order processing).

  • Maintain all building-related service logs and checklist in compliance with plant policies.

  • Identify and recommend to supervisor preventive maintenance requirements for buildings and basic equipment.

  • May be required to assist with snow removal, ground maintenance service or building operations functions.
  • Ensure and enforce compliance to all company and legislated safety policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • A high school or college diploma.
  • One year of related maintenance/operations experience.

  • Knowledge of general maintenance procedures.

  • Knowledge of construction materials.

  • Able to use basic power tools and complete basic building maintenance.

  • General knowledge of HVAC electrical/mechanical systems.

  • Good mechanical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and preventative maintenance software applications.
  • Ability to work shift work
