Position Summary
The Material Handler / Lift Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This includes operating various types of lift trucks to move, load, unload, and stack goods in warehouses, production, and shipping/receiving areas. The role supports inventory control, material tracking, and ensures that production lines are supplied in a timely and accurate manner. A focus on safety, accuracy, and collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to success in this role.About You
At our company, we are looking for exceptional individuals who can meet the following criteria:
- Work rotating shifts
- Ability to lift, bend, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- Handle physically demanding tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Follow instructions accurately and maintain focus on safety
- Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
- Education - Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
- Experience – Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Lift truck/forklift experience
- Safe material handling procedures and warehouse operations
- Lift truck operation and routine equipment checks
- Inventory systems, barcode scanning, and basic documentation practices
- Workplace safety protocols and PPE requirements
- Proficient operation of lift trucks and related equipment
- Attention to detail in inventory movement and placement
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft programs, scanning tools)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective verbal communication and coordination with teams
