TD Model and AI Risk Governance group is part of the Model Risk Management (MRM) group and has the global oversight of developing, maintaining, and enforcing model and Artificial Intelligence (AI) risk management policies and frameworks, ensuring that our model and AI risk management practices address regulatory requirements/expectations across various jurisdictions and aligns with industry leading practices
*Job Description:
The successful candidate will be a member of the Model and AI Risk Governance group responsible for the oversight of Artificial Intelligence (AI) deployment. The position reports to the Global Head of Model and AI Risk Governance.
Detailed and key accountability includes (but not limited to):
- Maintain TD's AI Risk Management Policy and relevant procedures
- Champion the Responsible AI Principles across the organization
- Lead the AI triage and coordinate the risk assessment across Risk and Control functions (Compliance, Data Risk, Model Validation, Privacy and Technology/Security Risk)
- Supervise Quality Assurance/Quality Control activities on AI triage
- Report to senior executives on AI risks at model- and portfolio-level
- Lead change management initiatives to drive adoption of the AI Risk Management Policy and related procedures / tools, working closely with Risk and Control Partners
- Identify opportunities to streamline activities across AI lifecycle activities without increasing risks, and lead the implementation of solutions
- Stay current on emerging AI laws, regulations and technologies, and share knowledge with business partners and senior management
*Job Requirements:
Minimum required experience
- 6+ year of relevant experience in compliance, AI risk oversight, AI / model development, governance or validation
- Advanced degree in one or more of the following areas: Business Management, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Risk Management or Data Science.
- Deep understanding of AI technologies (e.g., predictive AI, NLP, LLM, and Agentic AI), AI risk management industry practices, relevant global regulations, laws and standards (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI Risk Management Framework and E-23)
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams (e.g., compliance, data risk, legal, privacy, technology/security risks, business and model risk management) and effectively with people at all levels in an organization
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines at once.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to 1) articulate complex concepts and write technical documents, and 2) adapt communication depending on the audience.
- Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills
- Proficient and highly efficient with Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Preferred
- CFA / FRM / PRM
- Project Management certification is a plus
- Consulting experience
