The Opportunity

The Met hotel & The Waldorf hotel are currently looking for a Handyman/ Maintenance Technician to join our team. We are looking for a team-player that is self-motivated and organized.

The Handyman/ maintenance person is responsible for the day to day preventative and corrective maintenance needs of both hotels, guests rooms and all other venues on the property. This position will split time between the two hotels located in East Vancouver and New Westminster.

Job Description:

• Repairs and daily deficiencies and breakdowns including general maintenance, repairs to heating and cooling units, Furniture, Door locks, mild carpentry, mild electrical and mild plumbing.
• Maintains the facilities and equipment by conducting regular inspections.
• Assists in the inspection of work completed by 3rd party contractors.
• Maintains the detailed preventative maintenance program for guest rooms, grounds keeping and public areas.

Requirements:

Must have a Vehicle and a Driver's License

• 1 year hotel maintenance experience would be an asset.
• 1-2 years previous maintenance experience required.
• Experience with hotel and facility maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of plumbing practices.
• Must be knowledgeable in provincial health and safety regulations
• Must have exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Team-player who is able to recognize the value of guests and associates.
• Painting- intermediate, Drywall- Moderate, Basic carpentry- moderate, Plumbing- basic

Work days:

Thursday- Monday

Hours 8:30am- 4:30pm

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
