Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing patient care, and ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical therapies. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and patient-centered services within a retail pharmacy setting. The Staff Pharmacist will collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and uphold the highest standards of pharmacy practice.

Duties

  • Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with physician orders and legal requirements
  • Provide expert consultation to healthcare providers regarding medication selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects
  • Monitor patient responses to prescribed therapies and adjust medication plans as necessary in collaboration with medical staff
  • Educate patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions to ensure safe administration
  • Maintain detailed records of prescriptions, inventory, and patient interactions in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Oversee pharmacy operations including medication inventory management, quality assurance, and adherence to safety protocols
  • Assist in training pharmacy interns or new staff members to uphold departmental standards of practice

Experience

  • Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the state of practice
  • Prior experience in a retail pharmacy is highly preferred
  • Experience working with KROLL and APA authorization is advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and patient care principles
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Excellent communication skills to educate patients and coordinate with healthcare providers effectively

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance

Pay: $55.00-$60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
