Part-time Personal Support Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various healthcare and community settings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors, people with disabilities, or those requiring specialized care such as dementia or hospice support. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, medication management, and ensuring their safety and well-being in a respectful and supportive manner.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols and maintain accurate documentation
- Support patients with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Assist with light housekeeping duties such as cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe living environment
- Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) in home care, assisted living, or nursing home settings
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or case managers
- Help clients participate in recreational activities and social engagement to enhance quality of life
- Follow care plans and adhere to medical terminology guidelines when documenting patient information
Skills
- Prior experience in nursing homes, home care, or assisted living environments is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of senior care, dementia care, hospice care, and working with people with disabilities
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and medical terminology
- Compassionate caregiving skills with excellent communication abilities
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with mobility support
- Basic cooking skills for meal preparation tailored to dietary needs
- Organizational skills for case management and maintaining accurate records
- Ability to work independently while following care protocols and safety guidelines
