The Physiotherapist provides and documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation within the scope of practice of physiotherapists. As a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Physiotherapist will apply their clinical knowledge of musculoskeletal and respiratory conditions to provide assessment and treatment to children ages 0-18. The Physiotherapist is also responsible for supporting goal setting with patients and families around transition of care, as well as taking on a teaching role for clinic learners (medical students, residents, etc.). Finally, our Physiotherapists take initiative to improve and grow the Physiotherapy role through research, quality improvement, and patient education.

McMaster Children's Hospital, located in Hamilton's west-end, is the second largest children's hospital in Canada. The Pediatric Inpatient Surgical Care Unit is located at McMaster Children's Hospital Site of Hamilton Health Sciences. This inpatient unit provides acute tertiary and sub-specialty surgical care including pediatric trauma to children age Y prides itself on a friendly and welcoming environment with an emphasis on the wellbeing and mentorship of our nurses. 3Y is a dynamic, fast-paced unit that is committed to investing in our nurses' professional growth and development with the goal of developing a community of specialized pediatric surgical nurses who will seamlessly provide care to our patients.
- Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- Minimum of one (1) year pediatric physiotherapy experience within the past 3 to 4 years in the care of infants, children and their families within a tertiary care/acute care setting
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for working with children
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and non-verbal), critical thinking, mentoring, coaching and working within an interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrated facilitation, coordination, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation skills
- Evidence of ability to facilitate change, foster innovation and model the values of the organization
- Evidence of continuous learning
