JOB OVERVIEW 

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our Minor Projects team in the role of Senior Technical Engineer/Officer, located in Bowmanville, Ontario.

Reporting to the Design Engineering Manager, this role will have the opportunity to contribute to Ontario Power Generation by overseeing projects as the Modification Team Lead and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met and adhere to.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

Leading engineering projects from initiation to closeout, ensuring all objectives and commitments are met within established timelines; Administering and managing day-to-day project activities and promptly resolving field issues and challenges; Working closely with Project Controls to develop budgets, forecasts, and manage overall project costs Collaborating with internal departments (such as Performance Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Work Control) to ensure successful project delivery.Applying Engineering Change Control (ECC) processes to prepare design packages with quality.Providing oversight of external Engineering vendors to ensure that all aspects of the ECC process are followedEngaging with external Engineering and EPC vendors for execution planning and installation.Administering and managing day-to-day project activities and promptly resolving field issues and challenges.Working closely with Project Controls to develop budgets, forecasts, and manage overall project costs. 

QUALIFICATIONS

4 year-engineering degree, with preference given to mechanical, electrical or chemical Minimum 2 years related engineering experience is requiredExperience working in the Nuclear or Power Generation industry is an assetStrong Project Management fundamentalsExperience working with external Engineering and EPC vendors for execution planning and installationExperience leading engineering projects from initiation to closeoutWorking with Project Controls to develop budgets, forecasts, and manage overall project costs. Experience managing construction projects is highly desiredExperience with ECC Engineering Change Control processes and/or OPG's ECC process would be an assetExcellent written and verbal communication skills and complex problem-solving skillsCandidate must be a fully licensed engineer in the province of Ontario, or be eligible to be licensed in the Province of OntarioP.Eng. designation or PMP is an asset

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
