This person will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children outside of regular school hours (2:45 pm - 5:45 pm). Key responsibilities include supervising and ensuring the safety of children during after-school programs, planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, physical, and intellectual development, and fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere. This role also involves maintaining open communication with parents and guardians, as well as other educators. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have a caring and patient demeanor, and hold relevant qualifications such as a level one in ECE. Additionally, a background check including Criminal record and vulnerable sector checks and first aid certification or the willing to complete at own expense is required to ensure the well-being and safety of all participants in the program. On Fridays there are additional hours cleaning or spent in the class on PD/FLEX Fridays and Teachers Convention week. This position also entails some subbing through out the day when other staff are sick or require time off in our playschool. We also have a great relationship with the school we service if you are interested in subbing within the school. For the month of April the shift will become a split shift, 8:45-11:45 am in Playschool and 2:45-5:45 in OSC. As we are a growing program these hours could expand in the future if we feel you are the right fit.

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
