The Opportunity

Join our Global Enterprise Technology Services Team

How will you contribute?

Collaborating within our Cloud Platform Services team. You will be developing/testing automation and supporting public cloud platform technologies.

Interacting with engineering team members; application architects/developers, cloud operations and security teams, product managers, and leadership to deliver compliant public cloud technologies which drive business outcomes for Manulife with speed and agility.

Office location: Toronto - Canada or Waterloo - Canada or Boston - USA

Work arrangement: Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days from home

Remote working arrangement option is not available.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides reliable and scalable cloud platform (especially Containers/Kubernetes) expertise to engineers.

  • Develops and tests automation code to specifications and standards (Manulife, SDLC, Agile, etc).

  • Investigates new platform solutions to improve service delivery experience.

  • Resolves persistent platform issues when surfaced by technical support teams.

  • Responsible for monitoring, analyzing and optimizing software architecture and maintaining software environment to support testing and deployment in continuous integration/continuous delivery environment.

Skills and Experience:

Must haves:

  • Core Kubernetes knowledge

  • Service Mesh experience

  • Understanding of GitOps and Infrastructure as Code

  • Innovative mind set, someone who sees a problem and will experiment to solve it

  • Technical expertise in public cloud (preferably Azure) infrastructure and platform technologies especially Containers/Kubernetes required.

  • Expertise in provisioning and configuration automation tools.

  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features.

  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and how technology can address and support business strategy.

  • Bachelor in Computer Science/Technology or equivalent experience.

  • Collaborative approach to work with team members; able to coach, participate in code reviews, share skills and methods.

  • Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes.

  • Experiments with new technologies and understanding how they will impact what comes next.

Salary range is expected to be between

$109,600.00 CAD - $159,600.00 CAD
