Core responsibilities

  • Oversight of Health & Safety activities large producing mine site
  • Provide site leadership with ongoing safety performance updates
  • H&S Strategical thinking and leadership
  • Promote and lead a zero harm work culture
  • Coordinate risk management processes
  • Health & Safety training and assurance to site employees
  • Key stakeholder and regulatory body engagement
  • Incident investigation and corrective actions
  • Site emergency response, mine rescue, & firefighting systems / programs

Requirements:

  • 10+ years Health & Safety leadership experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment
  • Health & Safety related qualifications
  • Familiar with Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
  • CRSP designation or actively working towards acquiring it
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene
  • Both surface and underground mining experience preferably
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Mining hazard identification
