We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper / AP & AR to support our Finance team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to gain hands-on experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable within a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Reporting to a senior finance team member, the successful candidate will assist with day-to-day financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and support the accounting cycle while receiving ongoing guidance and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Assist with preparing and issuing customer invoices
  • Record and apply customer payments under supervision
  • Help monitor accounts receivable aging reports
  • Support follow-up on overdue accounts as directed
  • Assist with reconciling customer accounts and investigating discrepancies

Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Assist with reviewing, coding, and entering vendor invoices
  • Support matching invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents, where applicable
  • Help process vendor payments and employee expense reimbursements
  • Maintain organized and accurate vendor files and documentation
  • Assist with reconciling vendor statements

Bookkeeping & General Accounting

  • Record routine financial transactions accurately and on time
  • Assist with bank, credit card, and petty cash reconciliations
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Assist with basic financial reporting and data preparation
  • Adhere to company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls

Payroll Support (Backup)

  • Provide backup support for payroll processing as required, including data entry and verification of hours and payroll-related documentation
  • Assist with maintaining payroll records and supporting payroll reconciliations under supervision
  • Handle payroll-related information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion, in accordance with company policies and privacy requirements

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping
  • 1–2 years of experience in bookkeeping, AP, AR, or payroll support (co-op, internship, or entry-level experience considered)
  • Familiarity with accounting and payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, ADP, Payworks, or similar)
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Foundational understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow established processes and seek clarification when needed
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively within a team environment
