Talent Renew has partnered with a growing Toronto-based estate litigation law firm seeking an experienced Estates Law Clerk / Legal Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated professional to work on complex estate, trust, and capacity litigation matters within a collaborative and supportive environment.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will support the firm's estate litigation practice by preparing legal documents, interacting with clients and counsel, and managing multiple files simultaneously. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient file management while assisting on a wide range of estate matters.
Responsibilities:- Draft wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
- Prepare legal correspondence, probate documents, and court filings
- Assist with matters concerning guardianships, will challenges and interpretations, power of attorney disputes, passings of accounts, variations of trust, and dependent relief applications
- Interact professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties
- Manage multiple complex files and ensure deadlines are met
- Perform other law clerk duties as required, including drafting and file management
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- 1–3 years of experience in estate, trust, and capacity litigation and administration
- Law Clerk diploma and/or University degree considered an asset
- Strong technical and legal knowledge
- Confidence managing multiple complex files simultaneously
- Familiarity with Ontario software used for hearings, such as Caselines
- Excellent attention to detail and diligent proofreading skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Positive, flexible, and collaborative team player attitude
- Ability to work independently under tight timelines
- Competitive salary: $52,000–$60,000
