The Grand Falls regional Municipality is looking for an experienced carpenter's helper to join the Maintenance department.

What we are looking for :

  • Experience in maintenance, construction and various renovation and building skills
  • Good knowledge of tools and equipment used in carpentry
  • Ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Good physical condition to perform manual tasks and carry heavy loads.
  • Ability to work effectively under supervision.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.

What are the required tasks :

  • Load and unload materials and equipment on the worksite.
  • Assist in preparing materials and tools required for construction projects.
  • Help install foundations, walls, beams, roof frames, and other structures according to plans and the carpenters' instructions.
  • Assist in cutting, trimming, shaping, and assembling wood and other construction materials.
  • Use hand and power tools to cut, shape, adjust, and assemble materials.
  • Assist with various tasks as needed by carpenters and the construction team.
  • Hold a valid license and be able to operate construction equipment such as: scissor lift, boom truck, forklift, backhoe, etc.
