About The Role
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join our team focused on enhancing the notification capabilities within the OneDrive and SharePoint ecosystem. In this role, you will contribute to building large-scale distributed systems on Azure and the M365 Substrate, leveraging micro-services architecture, machine learning, and other innovative technologies. Your work will directly impact millions of users by delivering timely, intelligent notifications that understand user context and adapt to their work habits. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance services that support our vision of transforming users into "AI natives." This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of cloud technology, contributing to products that help people find, manage, and act on information more efficiently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- 2+ years of experience developing large-scale microservices and cloud-based systems
- 1+ years of experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to meet security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, with 2+ years of relevant experience
- 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in relevant languages
- Experience working with distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and large-scale cloud environments
- Strong understanding of system reliability, observability, and performance optimization
Responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders to gather and analyze user requirements for new features and enhancements
- Contribute to the design and development of scalable, reliable microservices and distributed systems
- Implement and optimize code for new products, services, or features, ensuring code reuse and maintainability
- Break down complex work items into manageable tasks and provide accurate effort estimations
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) to monitor system health, respond to incidents, and coordinate recovery efforts
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements to improve system availability, efficiency, and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of solutions
- Participate in on-call rotations, providing timely responses to system degradation or outages
