Job Overview

Master's Academy & College is an alternative Christian school. We are seeking a reliable and diligent Daytime Custodian & Parking Lot Attendant for a short-term contract (3 weeks) to help maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment, including assisting with basic parking lot management during peak times.

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, daytime hours (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM).
• Duration: 3 weeks contract
• Rate: $25-$27/hr
• Reporting To: Supervisor of Janitorial Services

Key Responsibilities

• Routine Cleaning: Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of assigned areas, including classrooms, offices, hallways, stairwells, and restrooms.
• Snow Removal: Shovel snow and apply de-icer at entrances
• Restroom Maintenance: Clean and sanitize all toilet fixtures, sinks, floors, and walls; restock paper supplies and soap dispensers throughout the day.
• Trash Removal: Empty waste receptacles and transport trash and recycling to designated disposal areas.
• Floor Care: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors. Respond promptly to spills and spot clean carpets.
• Event Setup/Takedown: Assist with the setup and teardown of furniture (tables, chairs) for various school events and meetings as needed.
• Parking Lot Assistance: During high-traffic periods (e.g., morning drop-off, afternoon pickup), direct vehicles to designated parking and waiting areas to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety. Provide basic assistance and information to drivers as needed. Stop vehicles to assist pedestrian crossing.
• Safety and Security: Monitor and report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or damaged property (both inside the school and in the parking lot). Ensure areas are clear of debris, especially exits and walkways.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience in custodial, janitorial, or professional cleaning work is preferred. Experience directing traffic or working in a customer service role is a plus.
• Police Information Check: Must pass a police information check with vulnerable sector search and Child Intervention Record Check
• Skills: Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuum cleaners, floor machines) and use cleaning chemicals safely and effectively. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with drivers and parents. Basic computer skilled required. Ability to perform minor maintenance tasks is considered an asset.
• Fluent in English: written and verbal
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and push/pull heavy objects for extended periods. Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions during traffic direction duties.
• Personal Attributes: Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
