We are currently seeking a Software Developer to join our team in Canada (CA).

Summary:

This initiative is essential as the client faces the end of Oracle Support for its front-end application, which currently relies on Oracle Forms and Reports. The project aims to replace the existing interface with a modern solution that meets departmental Accessibility standards, aligning with best practices for web development. The redesign and development of the web application will be prioritized while maintaining the existing backend Oracle database. The objective is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the system by developing a new, accessible front-end application and API using modern development practices to replace Oracle Forms and Reports. This initiative will integrate stakeholder feedback and require final approval from senior management, aiming to improve service delivery for clients.

Deliverables:

  • Develop assigned module, using C# and developing MVC pages and REST MVC API endpoints, syncing with existing (or updated) Oracle stored procedures.
  • Review user requirements, ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) user stories and task items.
  • Perform unit tests, User Interface (UI) test and integration tests evidence by work items in ADO.
  • Develop automated tests to validate work, including unit tests, functional tests, end-to-end tests, accessibility tests.
  • Progress report on a weekly basis on activities undertaken
  • Prepare technical documents, presentations, and/or other materials
  • Perform automated deployment packages.
  • Review peer code and pull requests as needed part of our bi-weekly sprint cycles
  • Perform a knowledge transfer to designated departmental staff, at the request of the Client.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze requirements and prepare appropriate specifications.
  • Implement PLSQL code and stored procedures to assist in data manipulation.
  • Code .NET services in C# to meet business security, architecture, and accessibility requirements with automated tests.
  • Developing the necessary APIs and services for data processing and manipulation.
  • Assist in leading team meetings and provide weekly progress reports to management.
  • Participate in agile scrum meetings with the clients, staff or technical design meetings.
  • Analyze system specifications for 3-tier based application development, to identify information, procedures and decisions flows.
  • Help develop strategies, prepare solutions and recommend the best options.
  • Conduct unit tests and integration tests.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer to designated departmental staff at the request of the Technical Authority.
  • Provide progress reports during team daily stand-ups, including completed activities, planned activities for the next period, risks/issues, and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to solution architectural documentation, technical documents, presentations, and other materials.
  • Amend, expand and refine the software to respond to new challenges and problems as required
  • Translate specification documents and/or user stories into effective program code
  • Document progress within the project Azure DevOps space following an Agile development methodology, with regular sprints and iterations.
  • Using Azure DevOps for project management, task tracking and collaboration.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of recent experience working as Programmer, Software Developer or similar.
  • 3+ years of recent experience with .NET and C# development and coding.
  • 1+ years of experience working with Azure DevOps (ADO), Visual Studio, Oracle, SQL, ActiveX, GIT, APIs.
  • Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain Reliability Security Clearance.
  • Must have a University Degree or College/CEGEP Diploma related to Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or similar from a recognized post-secondary institution.
