The Supervisor, Mine Maintenance System Technicians (MST) is a vital leadership role responsible for overseeing one of the fastest-growing and most technically complex teams within Mine Maintenance. This team supports critical operational technologies including autonomous haulage systems, wireless data networks, and mobile computing infrastructure. The Supervisor will ensure consistent performance, continuous improvement, and alignment with Teck's digital transformation goals.
We are looking for someone with strong organization and planning skills, who has experience with employee relations and has the ability to work well with a team. Interpersonal and communication skills will be vital for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily oversight and coordination of MST activities across L&R 4x4 shifts.
- Ensure timely response to system failures and maintain reliability of operational technology systems.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and maintenance standards.
- Support Production Automation (PA) initiatives and sustainable work practices.
- Collaborate with Teck Digital Services to evaluate and recommend new equipment and technologies.
- Facilitate cyber-security improvements, incident response, and forensics for wireless data networks.
- Mentor and develop MST personnel to enhance team performance and retention.
- Strategically plan for technology upgrades and system improvements.
- Ensure the security and availability of wireless data networks and mobile computing infrastructure.
- Promote and uphold Teck's Courageous Safety Leadership culture.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Certification in Radio Frequency (RF) Systems, Wireless Communications, or Networking from an accredited institution with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience, or equivalent.
- Diploma in Electronics Technology from an accredited institution and 2 years relevant experience or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of wired/wireless networking techniques and experience delivering technology in a mining environment.
- Familiarity with safety protocols for working around heavy equipment in a mining environment.
- Experience supporting mission-critical systems operating in a 24/7 production environment.
- Knowledge of RF propagation, RF coverage prediction tools, and RF/microwave communications fundamentals.
- Experience with installation, commissioning, and maintenance of in-pit and mobile hardware.
- Ability to introduce new technology products into a production environment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving abstract and comfort operating four-wheel drive vehicles in remote areas.
- Experience working from heights.

Salary Range: CAD $106,000 - $131,000 per year
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
