Job Overview:

We're looking for a Project Manager/Site Superintendent with strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment. This hybrid role oversees all phases of paving and construction—from planning to closeout—both in the field and the office.

The ideal candidate has a solid background in civil construction, scheduling, and on-site coordination. Responsibilities include managing crews, materials, and equipment; ensuring work meets specifications, safety, and quality standards; and maintaining clear communication with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management Duties:

  • Plan, schedule, and manage all phases of paving and civil construction projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project goals are met.
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and local regulations.
  • Manage project documentation including contracts, change orders, RFIs, and progress reports

Site Superintendent Duties:

  • Supervise daily on-site operations to ensure work is performed safely, on time, and to quality standards.
  • Direct and coordinate crews, subcontractors, and equipment.
  • Enforce safety procedures and conduct site inspections.
  • Troubleshoot issues in real time to avoid delays and maintain productivity.
  • Ensure all materials, tools, and equipment are available and in proper working order.
  • Conduct quality control checks and address any deficiencies.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in heavy civil or paving construction, with a background in both project management and site supervision.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret site plans/blueprints and specifications, with a solid understanding of contract documents
  • Strong working knowledge of MOTT and MMCD specs and standards.
  • Skilled in measuring and verifying project quantities.
  • Strong composure and problem-solving skills, as well as self motivated and detail oriented.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites throughout the region.
  • PMP certification or Civil Engineering/Construction Management education is an asset but not required.
