Duke's Building Supplies is a locally owned building materials supplier serving Fort McMurray and the surrounding region. We support residential, commercial, and industrial construction with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and teamwork.

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Yard Associate to support daily lumber yard and warehouse operations. This role involves handling building materials, maintaining an organized yard, assisting customers, and supporting shipping and receiving activities. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, physically capable, and takes pride in keeping an efficient and well-run yard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lumber yard and warehouse
  • Load and unload building materials safely and efficiently
  • Operate forklifts and yard equipment (training provided if required)
  • Assist with shipping and receiving, including verifying materials and documentation
  • Pick, stage, and prepare customer and delivery orders
  • Serve customers in the yard in a professional and helpful manner
  • Perform basic equipment checks and report safety or maintenance concerns
  • Support overall yard and warehouse operations as needed

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or building materials environment is an asset
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and basic inventory awareness
  • Valid driver's licence is an asset
  • Class 3 licence with air brakes is a strong asset but not required

Compensation

  • $24.00 – $28.00 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, and demonstrated ability
