What is the opportunity:
The Regional Manager, Saskatchewan is responsible for overseeing all provincial activities and those of the Saskatchewan office. Responsibilities will include providing guidance to ESC staff members, provincial regulatory entities and boards with the focus on the needs of the energy sector and working to further develop and expand Energy Safety Canada's reach within Saskatchewan and throughout other provinces.
What will you do:
- Plan, direct and co-ordinate the day-to-day operations of the Saskatchewan office.
- Serve as Energy Safety Canada's Saskatchewan main point of contact with the industry associations, regulators and boards and enhancing new initiatives.
- Oversee and set departmental strategic, operational and project plans, review performance information to monitor and measure progress of assigned projects and activity levels, and responsible for the achievement of department/division/unit goals to the strategic plan.
- Supervise staff according to company policy including participating in the hiring and training process, goal and objective setting, performance reviews and assist in developing staff to maximize potential, delegate work duties to staff as required, allocate use of available resources, and monitor and assist staff with work in progress.
- Evaluate current business processes and systems, propose; plan and implement improvements to procedures and systems to improve operating efficiency, establish and maintain written records to guide staff in future direction.
- Participate in setting budget needs and activities and promote responsible use of purchase cards and control of expenses, facilitate the preparation and analysis of expense reports.
- Participate in the marketing and promotion of Energy Safety Canada's products and services.
- Other duties as required
What you need to succeed:
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, leadership, business administration or another related field
- Direct understanding of legislative requirements impacting the energy sector.
- 10 + years' experience working in a business environment, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- 5 + years'' experience working in a supervisory capacity
- Excellent team management and supervisory skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Exemplary interpersonal skills and exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Well organized and able to handle multiple tasks quickly and accurately
- Goal orientated and accepting the challenges of working under deadlines
- Demonstrates creativity and ability to rely on experience and knowledge to make decisions confidently
- Strong facilitation and consensus building skills – demonstrates diplomacy and tact
- Ability to forecast change and adjust as required to ensure ESC is possessed for success.
- Proven coaching and mentorship skills
