What you'll be doing

At CIBC, we are on a mission to build a client-focused, connected, and performance-driven team and are seeking applicants who can help us transform our bank.

The CIBC Opportunity Scholarship helps match talent opportunities for students facing barriers to entry into careers in financial services. Eligible students enrolled in full-time undergraduate programs in Canada can receive a scholarship and paid internships in Global Asset Management and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management.

This scholarship is available at the bachelor's degree level valued at $10,000 CAD, available for one academic year. In addition to the scholarship, the successful applicant will be offered a paid summer internship in Private Wealth.

As an intern or co-op student, you will support the branch from an operational perspective, gaining broad exposure to how the branch functions day-to-day. You will collaborate with the branch operations team, which serves as the first point of contact for clients, greeting visitors, booking meetings, and handling a variety of ad-hoc administrative tasks.

The office relies on the branch operations team for approvals and various requests, and you will play a key role in ensuring these processes run smoothly.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role.

Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $50,840–$60,000.

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographical location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

We are committed to providing fair, equitable, and competitive compensation opportunities for all employees and we encourage open conversations about compensation throughout the recruitment process.
