Service Plus Aquatics is a rapidly-expanding, progressive commercial swimming pool company, devoted to providing exceptional service to the Ontario recreational aquatics market. Established in 1989, we are known for our industry leadership in aquatic design/build services, restoration and repair, waterproofing and finishes, chemical automation and facility management for the commercial market. Our dedication and on-going training continues to make our Team, truly dynamic.

This position will report directly to the Contract Manager, Estimation & Design, and will be primarily responsible for project coordination and hands-on design/drafting. This position will assist the Design Department with:

  • AutoCAD design hands-on experience and knowledge is a mandatory requirement
  • REVIT hands-on experience and knowledge is required
  • Renderings design, drafting, and video rendering
  • CAD 'basic' and 'detailed' drawings
  • Experience with water features and swimming pools is a strong asset
  • Issue Site Instructions (SI's)
  • Review shop drawings where applicable
  • Design Fabrication drawings
  • Attend design and site meetings as applicable
  • Attend conferences calls where applicable
  • Complete onsite 'to be built' measurements where applicable
  • Cut sheet design/development submissions
  • Maintain design files and library
  • Develop project 'written specifications' templates where applicable
  • OBC design checklist documents
  • CAD drafting of as build drawings
  • Answer telephone and queries when other positions within the Design/Projects department are busy, ensuring also that there is adequate phone coverage during the lunch hour
  • Other tasks as directed/assigned by Department Manager

Position Summary:

  • Work hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm; 1 hour unpaid lunch mandatory, 40-44 hour work week - In office
  • Overtime must be pre-approved by the Design Department Supervisor

Required Competencies:

  • AutoCAD and Revit design hands-on experience and knowledge is a mandatory requirement
  • Minimum 3+ years Drafting experience required
  • Proficient in MS Office ( Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • MS Project is considered an asset
  • Experience with written specifications is considered an asset
  • Experience with renderings and video rendering programs is considered an asset
  • Architectural Technology Diploma is considered an asset
  • Exceptional written & verbal communication skills
  • Very detailed oriented
  • Able to multi-task
  • An extremely reliable Team player, who can also work efficiently independently
  • Ability to crisis manage, and problem solve effectively
